Gábor Raáb earned his degree in Vocal Performance in 2010 in Hungary, after which he continued his musical studies in London. He also studied as a scholarship recipient in Venice, Italy and Tel Aviv. Israel. As a soloist, he has performed at the Lucerne Festival under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle. He has sang in numerous European countries and has collaborated with distinguished conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Leonard Slatkin, Péter Eötvös, and Iván Fischer.
He made his debut at the Szeged National Theatre in 2019, performing the role of Peppe in Pagliacci. At the world premiere of László Király’s Mindszenthy Oratorio, he sang the part of the Psalmist with the Szeged Symphony Orchestra. Under the direction of Judit Elek and the musical direction of György Melis, he appeared in the world premiere and subsequent concert film of And the Dead Sing Again….
Mr. Raáb is an active participant in Hungarian Jewish cultural life. He earned a degree in Judaic Studies from the National Jewish University and is currently pursuing studies in cantorial music. He has performed at numerous domestic and international cantorial concerts. He serves as cantor and prayer leader of the Jewish Community of Mosonmagyaróvár and was a regular performer at the Kiskunhalas Jewish Festival between 2005 and 2021.
In addition to his musical career and cultural service to the Jewish community, Mr. Raáb is passionate about teaching. Since 2012, he has been dedicated to sharing his musical knowledge and vocal expertise with his students.
