ADE Zen Space + Body in Water dance performance

In a time where most things happen fast, move quickly and are built to last just an instance, sustainability of an experience, yourself and the world that surrounds you are much sought after. Next to the global health trend from mindfulness to superfoods and from yoga to health startups, ‘zen’ is also a big inspiration in the artistic realm. Artists and DJs alike try to provide ways to escape the ever-expanding flow of information and to reconnect with the self and the environment.

ADE embraces this movement and gives it a place of its own in the ADE Zen Space, packed with art installations, performances, audiovisual meditative sessions and all things zen.

12:00: ADE Zen Space: Ademruimte by Calmspaces

Calmspaces initiated a new project called Ademruimte, meaning breathing space. Ademruimte is a research project where a group of specialized designers, health workers, urbanists and architects come together to design a public space for rest, contemplation and silence; something that is missing in modern cities. During your stay at Ademruimte you will get a 10 minute guided meditation of spatial light and sound. Book your session here or sign in at ADE Zen Space on the spot.

Open 16-19 October from 12pm until 9pm. Accessible only to ADE Card holders and ADE delegates.

12:00: ADE Zen Space: Pas de Deux by Studio Yūgō

In the work ‘Pas de Deux’ Studio Yūgō explores the temporary state of the human body in classical ballet. Through analysis software the movements of bodies are recorded in digital values, without losing the movement. This data forms the groundwork for the kinetic installation. The rhythm and transience of the dance are translated into a fixed form and machine movement patterns.

The rhythms and patterns adopted by the pendules visualise executed dance movements. Through this process new choreography is created; without the human body, but rich in all its movements. A dance that is not limited to time and continues to perpetuate.

Open 16-19 October from 12pm until 8pm.

Accessible only to ADE Card holders and ADE Delegates.
